THE CAREER CONSULTANCY OFFICE AND ITS ACTIVITIES
AT THE EUROPEAN CAREER SCHOOL

The Career Consultancy Office was formed in May, 2006 and has been functioning ever since as a significant component of The European Career School. The Career Consultancy Office got a subsidy in the context of the 2.1 activity, of The Integrated Operating Program For Regional Development, called: „Ability development connected with needs of the regional job market and the promotion of continuous educational facilities of the region“. It is being financed by the European Social Fund and the national budget.

The Career Consultancy Office developed, in order to support students on their way of gaining work experience and to prepare them for an active entrance on the demanding and hard job market.

Our offer is addressed to all students of the Great Polish province. The students will be supported through technical work counseling in form of 3-4 individual meetings with a psychologist, work consultant and/or through the attendance to knowledge and skill extending group topic table meetings.

The students learn among other things, for instance: overcoming techniques of multilayered recruiting processes and techniques for creating an effective            auto-presentation. The most „needing“ (for example beneficiaries) will be supported: individually or in groups.

The Career Consultancy Office will also concern itself with the monitoring process of the job market and the analyses’ outcome of trends (concerning that market) will show their practical application in the students’ consultancy. There’s also going to be a small library there, equipped with guides and publications connected with the search for employment and qualification increase. We plan different forms of contact with the employers, as well as company presentations, university meetings, which are to strengthen the exchange of information, in order to bring the students a bit closer to their work-surrounding field. We also see the possibility to collect and send work applications to students: inland and to foreign countries, and to make them available to increase the occupation activity of the students during their study.

The existence of our office relies also on the affiliation to the Country-Wide Polish Network Of Career Consultancy Offices and on the co-operation with other Academic Career Consultancy Offices, through participation in common initiatives and exchange of experience. Our trump card will be us being available for students - daily consulting hours, also on Saturdays, and Internet contact.

The development project of the Career Consultancy Office at the Specialists For Europe University represents an important element of the university’s strategy, which guarantees a modern education, as well as the occupation activation, that will facilitate the search for a satisfying work for our graduates.
